Mommy, it was a year ago today that I held your hand and said goodbye to you. Thank you for being here in Nashville with me for your last months. I miss you every day, and am thinking of you always, especially today.

Charmaine, I was honored to be present when you defended your dissertation at Pacifica, and to join with your other friends and your daughter to celebrate afterward. You were passionate about learning and you pushed yourself beyond your limits, I do believe, to achieve your goals. I'm so glad you were able to join us, your Pacifica classmates, at my ranch in 2009 and feel the breeze blowing on you again. Love to your family, and to you--wherever you are now. Elli

I am so glad that I got to meet you Charmaine. Even without truly knowing you, I am certain that you could not have been an iota less than spectacular. Thank you for having brought my dear Netta into this world and having changed my life for the better. If you see my daddy and my papa, stick with them, they will undoubtedly show you the ropes.
